talk about it more

When she was two, Fiona regularly said "Talk about it more!" to express her desire to know more about whatever we were discussing.

Food funnies

Fiona likes refried beans. Well, that's really an understatement ... let's put it this way: if there are any left after dinner, she wants them for dessert.

This evening, after she finished her burrito, she asked "Could I have another scoop of refried beans, please?" Jen said "Sure." Then, when Fiona realized that there was more than one scoop left in the bowl, she said "The question is, do you two want any more of them?" Verbal Girl strikes again!

Nora is not yet as verbal as Fiona was at the same age, but isn't lagging too far behind. She does do more with sign language than Fiona did - she just recently began giving back the sign for "eat", has been doing "more" for a while, and she has nodding yes and shaking her head no down pretty well. Today, while being towed in the wagon with Fiona behind Jen as she walked around the mall (for exercise, not shopping), they were sharing a snack of banana and cheerios. After the banana was gone, Nora signed "eat" and Fiona offered her a cheerio. Nora shook her head "no" and signed "eat" again, and shook her head and signed "eat" again! So we're pretty sure she wanted more banana.

In other news, Grandpa McKinney visited in early January. The picture was taken in the Botanical Conservatory.
